This research looks to generate new knowledge through a culturally-appropriate asthma support programme for tamariki and their whānau, while building health literacy, incorporating tikanga and mātauranga Māori, and empowering tamariki and their whānau to be in control of asthma management. The research will provide evidence to the effectiveness of a health literacy-based intervention, with potential to inform reconfiguration of service delivery and policy in both primary and secondary care.
